What is a civil celebrant?
Civil Celebrant-led ceremonies are wonderful celebratory occasions, made completely bespoke to each couple/family
As your Civil Celebrant, together we can incorporate ANYTHING YOU as a couple/family WISH to, into your personal ceremony.
You may wish to include some cultural, multi-linguistic, religious or spiritual elements in your ceremony. Iontach/Great, absolutely we can!
With a Civil Ceremony you are welcome to acknowledge and weave in all beliefs, cultures and sentiments – as much or as little as you like – and create a ceremony that truly reflects you both as a couple or as a family.

Here’s how it works: If you are planning on Getting Married, a Civil Partnership, Elopement or Naming
-
You will need to contact your local City/County/Borough Council office to get officially registered. (just Google ‘Births, Deaths and Marriages’ / ‘Registry Office’ in your local area).
-
You will need to give anything between 1-3 months notice of Marriage (time-scales vary regionally, so talk to your local Registrar).
-
It takes about 15-20 minutes to get the legal licence and certificates as part of a 2:2 meeting with the registrar (i.e. You, the couple: 2 witnesses). Costs vary regionally (from £80.00 in Belfast to €200 in Dublin*).
-
This is the most cost-effective way of completing your legal obligations. (* prices correct 2023).
-
Once you have this paperwork done and dusted, then you will be free to have your incredible, once-in-a-lifetime ceremony the way you want it without restrictions of time or place.
